Capodimonte Museum and the gardens

The underground city: the Bourbon tunnel
The Bourbon Tunnel is the most fascinating underground route of the city of Naples : explore the hidden treasures underneath the surface of the city, from old Roman roads and the early Greek artifacts, to the
vehicles and motorcycles of the 40s, 50s and 60s as well as statues and ruins from the second World War.
The Tunnel was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who needed a secret military way from the Royal Palace to the barracks after the revolution in the 1848.
Tours are available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Saint Elmo Castle and Saint Martino
On the hill of Naples, there is one of the most symbolic monuments of the city. The earliest information relating to the castle on the hill dates back to 1275 when the fortress was owned by the family of King Charles Angiò. In 1329 Robert Angiò decided to enlarge the fortification. In 1604 the structure became a prison for political and military prisoners until 1952. In 1976 the refurbishment started and lasted for seven years. Today, the Castle of Saint Elmo is a multifunctional center offering art exhibitions, shows, concerts and conference. Moreover, due to its location, it offers breathtaking views of the city and the gulf of Naples.
In the same monumental complex, we found the Neapolitan monastery, dedicated to Saint Martin founded in 1325 by Charles, son of Robert Angiò. Between the end of the 1500s and the 1600s the whole monastery was completely transformed by several artists, and today, only the subterranean parts preserved their original structure. The undergrounds host the museum sculpture section.

Pompeii and Herculaneum daily excursion
Explore the ancient ruins of Herculaneum and Pompeii on this day trip from Naples, a fascinating journey back to the Roman Empire when Pompeii and the Volcano Vesuvius area were the most beautiful resort in Italy. Visiting this World Heritage Site, you will jump into the daily life of the ancient Roman Empire: the Palestra, the Basilica, the Thermal Baths, the House of the Mosaic Atrium, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, just to mention few of the places that you are going to visit. Both sites, Pompeii and Herculaneum were buried beneath 60 feet of ash when the Volcano Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
Plan on wearing comfortable shoes to walk over original cobblestone streets, and bring with you a hat or umbrella for summer afternoons.

The island of Capri is one of the most visited location in the South of Italy, with its breathtaking landscapes from the rocky caves around the island to the edge of the horizon, it has been an inspiration to poets, lovers and travelers throughout the centuries.
